Working with a Realtor to buy a primary residence is a very close relationship. Much more so than a typical business relationship. Ideally you’ll be able to get to know each other on a deeper level so that they really get you. There is no other team I would work with. Period. Not only do they know how to get a deal closed, they have a wealth of knowledge about the process and the legal requirements. They patiently walked me through hundreds of pages of disclosures so I could understand exactly what I was signing. On top of that, they score A++ for strategic advice. And their advice is not simply to offer more money, but to condition the offer/counter attractively enough to move the negotiations forward. On the first transaction, they helped me get into escrow before the first open house. With numerous back-up offers, I was still able to get a seller credit. I sold that property in a weak market with a considerably wide bid-ask disparity. We negotiated a deal without going into escrow as I didn’t want to taint the property if it didn’t close. After a few weeks of negotiating and inspections, the day we had a meeting of the minds, we went into escrow all contingencies dropped and had a fast close. Recently they helped me close on a property that had 9 offers, went to a multiple counter and I was not the highest bidder. Less than 2 weeks after closing, the backup offer called Anita to offer me a handsome profit to flip the property as-is. What I have learned on this journey with Hugh and Anita is that they are professional, extraordinarily ethical, tenacious and put the client first.
