Just south of LAX, between the suburbs of El Segundo and Hermosa Beach, you’ll find Manhattan Beach: covering a diminutive 3.88 square miles of land, with over two miles of oceanfront and a population of approximately 35,000.
Despite its relatively small size, Manhattan Beach boasts an extremely high quality of education compared with the rest of the greater LA metropolitan area, with all four of its public schools maintaining a perfect 10/10 score at GreatSchools. While there are no colleges or universities that call Manhattan Beach home, you’ve got more than a dozen within a 20-mile drive (e.g. Loyola Marymount and USC).
