About Hancock Park
What Hancock Park lacks in size, it makes up for in historic charm. Only 1,200 homes lie within the boundaries of this central LA suburb—Melrose, Wilshire, Highland, and Rossmore, according to the Hancock Park Homeowners Association—with an aesthetically-appealing variety of houses in the style of various Period Revivals (e.g. Tudor, Spanish Colonial, Monterey, and more). Most homes are set back at least 50 feet from the street, with side driveways leading to a rear garage—definitely a different flavor from other LA neighborhoods!
Hancock Park is eminently walkable, a fact appreciated by the high percentage of residents who are members of the Orthodox Jewish community (whose faith requires them to live within walking distance of their synagogue). Unsurprisingly, there are many private Jewish schools that serve this area, though families with students in public school appreciate the 9/10 GreatSchools rating of Hancock Park Elementary.
And, located in the heart of the Hancock Park neighborhood is the Wilshire Country Club: host of the LA Open, the Senior PGA, and the LPGA several times in its nearly 100-year history.
