Buying or selling, our discount brokerage is an excellent alternative to flat-fee MLS brokers who offer inferior service and our Realtor rebate program offers more savings than any other reputable Realtors.
About Tarzana
Yes, you guessed right: Tarzana does, indeed, get its name from the vine-swinging jungle dweller originally made famous by Edgar Rice Burroughs (and whose 550 acres of Southern California land were gradually sold for the construction of homes and other community facilities and businesses).
If you like greenery, you can take your pick between two golf courses, at Braemar and El Caballero Country Clubs, or hiking at Corbin Canyon Park.
That may be most of the walking that you do—Tarzana is not known as one of the greater LA area’s most walkable suburbs, so you’ll probably need a car to get around. You can also catch a Metro bus or take a ride on the Orange Metro line; just be aware that you’ll want the Reseda station, which is actually located in Tarzana despite having the name of its neighbor to the north.
Parents have good things to say about several of the schools in Tarzana; Nestle Elementary and Wilbur Avenue Elementary both have an API rank of 9/10, and Portola Middle has a Highly Gifted Magnet program. And, acclaimed film school Columbia College’s Hollywood Campus is right in Tarzana as well, for those looking for higher educational opportunities.
